Queen Village Residence

With abundant southern exposure, this condominium renovation had limiting ceiling height due to existing concrete plank ceiling construction. With a client request to create as much openness as possible while maintaining a dark and neutral color palette, a light solid oak wood floor was selected to unify what were previously disparate contained spaces. A new counter-height island with cantilevered stone top was built as part of the open concept design. New millwork cabinetry was installed for the kitchen with a custom bar niche with antique mirror glass, glass shelves, and undercounter wine refrigerator situated between the french door refrigerator and dining area. A faux concrete wall finish was selected as the backdrop to the dining area.

Just off of the entrance, the vintage-inspired powder room was enveloped with statement wallcovering and black tile wainscot with antique brass metal highlights. In the main living area, we created a custom millwork wall with black finish, housing an 80” electric fireplace, television, and concealed cabinets. Artwork was selected to conceal large storage cabinets on the right side. We collaborated with the client in selecting furnishings in neutral tones with contrasting dark charcoal selected for the accent table and woven ottoman.

The bedroom adjacent to the living area features another custom millwork wall with black finish with floating nightstands and wall sconces either side of the bed. A sliding door conceals a walk-in closet with main bathroom beyond. Neutral colors were utilized here as well, with contemporary floating oak vanity and custom oak storage wall to the left. The black metal and glass enclosure was stepped to conceal a built-in shower bench. Chevron and picket style wall tile was used for floor-to-ceiling walls.
